Woody Ridge

Location: Shenyang, PRC
Client: YIDA
Services: Planning, Landscape Architecture
Woody Ridge is a 13-acre development that will consist of some single-family homes but mostly three-story townhomes with private gardens that feature a waterfall from the ground floor into the basement level. Three to four buildings will share a Mediterranean courtyard with stone walls and Mediterranean plantings. A series of public spaces designed with reflecting pools and evergreen trees are proposed along the main street to create focal points that energize the driving experience. An alternation of pedestrian paths connects public spaces and courtyards, and design elements within the major spine street intersect with public spaces to create a safe place for pedestrian connectivity. Connector paths meander through the site, responding to topography. The scale and local climate are being carefully considered during the design process.
