Michelle is LandDesign’s Director of Transportation, contributing her wealth of knowledge of the public transportation industry. She is a flexible, well-rounded organizer with a strong understanding of how to recognize and adapt to changing market trends. Her first five years in her career with the North Carolina Department of Transportation provided a foundation for her now 19-year consulting career. As modes of desired transportation continue to diversify in urban areas, our firm understands that communities need critical creativity and design to match their planned innovative infrastructure. Michelle’s management of Capital Improvements Program (CIP) projects for the City of Charlotte has been invaluable to their growth this past decade and will help LandDesign dive deeper into this project environment. Her breadth of work in bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure, such as the I-85 North Bridge and Matheson Avenue Streetscape, are representative of her balanced vision to create in-demand, well-connected urban centers. Throughout her journey to push the transportation industry she has advocated for the advancement of women through her role as an active member of the Charlotte Metro Chapter of Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS) and Secretary for the American Public Works Association (APWA). She hopes to use her platform to inspire her daughter and other growing women to explore all their career opportunities and make a collective impact on their communities.
