Improving Depth in Accessible Daily Amenities

From traditional retail to activated mixed use, Northeast Heights will bring fresh retail, office, and residential opportunities tailored to the needs of DC's Ward 7.

LandDesign is working with Cedar Realty and Trammell Crow on this Large Tract Review process with the city’s Office of Planning for the project, located at the busy intersection of Benning and Minnesota Avenue in the District. The new development would replace two aging shopping centers with roughly 1.97 million square feet of mixed use development.

The planned development will encompass eight buildings located on the East and West side of the intersection. It will be the future home of DC?s Department of General Services and is designed for the planned streetcar extension that would stop adjacent to the development. The design of the new development focuses on creating highly activated community spaces including those to support the adjacent library and community center.
