We are currently seeking a Construction Administrator to join us in our Charlotte office.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Support construction administration activities on projects.
  • Witness sewer and water testing.
  • Conduct thorough pre-construction specification and drawing reviews.
  • Review and process shop drawings and submittals promptly.
  • Monitor projects for construction document compliance.
  • Initiate document revisions and project reviews.
  • Record changes to contract documents.
  • Perform quality control throughout project life cycle.
  • Prepare field observation reports, including photographs, to document each site visit.
  • Establish project procedures, problem solving activities, budget reviews and certification
  • Respond to RFIs and document as appropriate
  • Process change order requests promptly and convert to change orders as necessary.
  • Process pay applications.
  • Receive and distribute test reports.
  • Communicate with contractors as needed.
  • Serve as liaison between owner(s) and contractor(s).
  • Attend all agency inspections.
  • Prepare punch-list and close out procedures.
  • Review closeout documents from contractors, distribute to consultants, and transmit approved documents to owner(s).
  • Perform post-construction services and investigations as needed.
  • Provide consultation regarding construction administration project budgets and schedules.
  • Coordinate with the engineering teams to ensure project completion is in compliance with contract documents.
  • Review project drawings, bonds, and other post-construction documentation for approval.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction science and/or management, architecture, or engineering.
  • Experience in site work construction and/or on construction sites reviewing and observing the installation of erosion control measures, clearing and grading activities, installation of storm drainage networks, water systems and sanitary sewer systems, roadway construction, and understanding of steps necessary to facilitate construction closeout.
  • Construction administration and/or engineering.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel software.
  • Ability to read and understand plan documents.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Exceptional organizational and follow-through skills.
  • Self-motivated and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Understand contract deliverables, plans, and specifications.
