LandDesign Expands Land Development Services with Civil Engineering

Just in time for the holidays, LandDesign has checked a big item
off our wish list! One of our strategic goals is to better serve our clients by
growing our Civil Engineering services in all offices – and we are excited to
announce that BC Consultants, a design-focused, land development consulting
firm in the Washington, DC metro area, is now part of LandDesign.

BC Consultants is a multi-disciplinary firm that has served
Northern Virginia since 1985. Recognized for providing integrated engineering
and land planning services, BC has created some of the area’s most prominent
residential, commercial and civic projects, including Kingstowne, Fairfax
Center and Fairchase. The BC team adds expertise in civil engineering and
surveying to our DC office and boosts our already robust talent in Landscape
Architecture and Urban Design. We are excited to strengthen our ability to
provide complete land planning, civil engineering and design services with this
addition.

Jim Scanlon, founder of BC Consultants, is now our Director of Engineering
in the DC market. Jim will continue to lead his team and engage work as always,
while also working with the LandDesign leadership team to grow the engineering
studios and integrate the practices. We will maintain the Fairfax County
location, allowing us to continue to serve our clients in that area, while we
focus on growing the studio at our Alexandria location.

“35 years ago, Jim set out to create a practice where the best
of design and engineering could come together. And he built a practice around
the same values we’ve built LandDesign – creating quality places of enduring
value for our clients and communities”

         – Peter Crowley, founding partner of LandDesign’s DC Office

We are excited to grow our talent with a group that shares our
core values and has such a strong familiarity with the area. We’re committed to
our clients and collaborators, and to evolving our practice to remain relevant,
innovative and valuable everywhere we serve. This new acquisition – our firm’s
first – is fresh proof of that commitment. By strengthening our collaborative
expertise in house, we can service our clients more effectively and efficiently
– which means better solutions and more places that matter.
