We are excited to announce the promotion of Heba Root to Chief People Officer! For over a decade, Heba has played a significant role in fostering an authentic and memorable employee experience at LandDesign. Today, she leads a team of innovative and creative HR professionals who provide meaningful resources and benefits to employees in our five offices in Charlotte, Washington DC, Dallas, Orlando, and Boulder.
With two decades of HR experience, Heba has supported organizations of a national and global scale, affording her a unique understanding of how business decisions impact the employee experience. The positive influence of HR extends beyond its traditional function and is equally important to growing new markets and services. Heba believes that, “benefits, recruitment, and policies are secondary to HR’s role in keeping employees at the forefront of decision making.”
Since joining LandDesign in 2004, Heba has witnessed the firm’s rapid growth and developed her skill set to better support the evolving needs of employees with focus on overall wellbeing. She maintains a close pulse on societal changes to inform her comprehensive approach to HR. In 2020, Heba advocated for the firm’s investment in Diversity & Inclusion resources through the creation of a dedicated Diversity Coordinator. Together, Heba collaborates with the Diversity Coordinator to inform policies, benefits, and programs that are inclusive and positively contribute to the employee experience.
The creation of this new C-suite position reflects the importance of our people and culture to LandDesign’s success. LandDesign’s President, Rhett Crocker says, “Heba has been instrumental in prioritizing resources and benefits that continue to make LandDesign an employer-of-choice.” In this role, Heba will continue to support the firm’s vision to be the best in business, work, and culture by championing strategic initiatives that improve the way we recruit, retain, and grow talent.
