LandDesign has been featured in a collaborative article, “Practice-Based Research Now: Purpose, Approach, and a Proposition”, published in the November issue of Landscape Journal. The article is an attempt to more fully characterize the drivers, motivations, mechanisms, and aspirations for research at a diverse array of professional landscape architecture firms. The article explores this topic through personal statements by the co-authors, a synthesis of interviews and surveys with 21 design firms, and a proposition and call to action.
The article grew out of roundtable discussions organized by the Landscape Architecture Foundation (LAF). LandDesign’s Lisa Hwang, Design Data and Metrics Specialist, co-authored the article, and Stephanie Roa, Associate/Senior Designer, participated in the roundtable discussions. A December 2024 webinar panel discussion with the co-authors and hosted by LAF can be viewed here: Practice-Based Research Now | Landscape Architecture Foundation.
