At this year's @NationalASLA Conference, LandDesign was recognized as the 2024 Firm Award recipient. Our President, Rhett Crocker, said it best: “[In the past five generations of LandDesign], we’re very proud that we’ve built on the momentum of each one...just trying to make the firm better every day. From the early beginnings of designing landscape plans for the Outer Banks in North Carolina, to having five offices across the country and doing work across the globe, we’ve come a long way.” We are humbled by this recognition, and we look forward to continuing our momentum of creating places that matter. #ASLA

Deep Ellum Texas has transformed from an industrial, wartime warehouse district into a vibrant retail streetscape. The design integrates reclaimed site materials, public art installations, and native landscaping to authentically celebrate Deep Ellum’s unique identity while enhancing its appeal as a trendy entertainment hub. Our firm took time to reflect on the inspiring connections made and the opportunity to share our passion for this profession through field sessions. From fresh perspectives to the next generation of designers, we were absolutely energized by the future of this industry. #ASLA

Little Sugar Creek Greenway I-485 to James K. Polk Historic Site earned 1st Place in the Urban Category at this year’s @NCDOTcom Mobi Awards! Since its completion, the two mile multi-modal trail has created community-wide connections to the surrounding wetlands and wildlife. We extend our congratulations to @MeckParkRec for their ongoing commitment to creating and maintaining authentic outdoor experiences.

The 61,000 square foot parking lot at Winter Park Library and Events Center plays an integral role in treating runoff from the new facility. The design utilizes permeable pavers and has a storage depth of 31 inches for stormwater detention. This solution resulted in a functional, elegant site feature that exceeds the current stormwater treatment requirements in the City of Winter Park. How can intentional green spaces foster a dynamic, self-sustaining urban district? When the pedestrian experience takes center stage, the design is crafted to welcome users of all ages and abilities. At Long Creek Greenway, we chose a 12-foot wide, multi-use path to make sure the greenway is accessible for strollers, wheelchairs, and bicycles alike.
