In 2012, we opened our office in Dallas, where we welcomed new clients, team members, and opportunities. In 10 years, we have cultivated a thriving office that proudly supports clients in creating places of value across Texas. As we celebrate this significant milestone, we are reminded of the work and people who helped us get here.
Due to Texas’ consistent population growth, the market continues to present opportunities for development and community design at all scales. We recognized Texas craved a firm that could execute big ideas while navigating ongoing market growth challenges. Our innovative and creative approach combined with our understanding of the trends and drivers influencing development demands and community preferences positioned us as an expert partner to clients in Texas.
We opened our Dallas office with the goal of leaving a positive impact on the market by offering a differentiated service to clients. We worked with Bright Realty to explore the next chapter for Castle Hills, envisioning the community’s first mixed-use development, The Realm, and a major employment center, Crown Centre. With Asana Partners, we celebrated the rich history and culture of the Deep Ellum neighborhood in the redevelopment of its streetscapes and storefronts. We collaborated with some of the best in multi-family, including Fairfield Residential, Trammell Crow, and Wood Partners, where we learned to navigate the complex housing market and deliver innovative residential amenities that create a sense of home.
Opening an office in Texas allowed us to explore how we scale our practice and culture. From the beginning, our goal has been to have a fully integrated-services office, bringing together perspectives of landscape architects and civil engineers to add value to our clients’ projects. “The integration of civil engineering and landscape architecture has greatly contributed to LandDesign’s success. From the day we opened our Dallas office, we were able to communicate the value of our integrated services under the multi-disciplinary leadership of Heth Kendrick and Brian Dench,” says LandDesign President Rhett Crocker.
In 10 short years, our Dallas office has matured into an inspiring workplace where clients know they will receive exceptional service and our employees can contribute and succeed. From an ambitious group of 6 to a thriving office of 40, the growth of our Dallas office is a testament to the kind of entrepreneurial energy that has fueled LandDesign for the last 44 years. As we prepare for the next decade of growth in Texas, we are investing in relationships, expertise, and culture to better service and support this exciting and evolving market.
